Tips for Successful Search Process
- You can search by any of the advanced search fields using either a single field or linking between more than one field.
- Accuracy must be taken into consideration when selecting the keywords, as well as the correct spelling.
- Use synonyms for better results. For example, when searching for "diet", you may also use the words "lose weight" to get more results.
- Think of searching for topics similar to your search topic. For example, when searching for the "networks", you may also search for "communications technology".
- In case you search using more than one word, you may use "the special fields" to link between words, as follows:
It means to link between the words using "AND". By using this method, you get the results (i.e., news, articles, and consultations...etc.) which contain all the search words regardless of the order of those words.
For example: searching for (Hamas Fatah), will retrieve all the results that contain both words.
It means to link between the words using (OR). By using this method, you can get the results which contain both search words or either of them.
For example, searching for (diet regime), will retrieve the results which contain any of those words.
We use this field when we need to search for a set of words such as a sentence. For example, (the Arab-Israeli conflict).
We use this field to exclude certain results, in order to prevent words that are irrelevant to the search topic from appearing.
For example, when we want to find topics on "Bill Clinton", we can write the word "Hillary" in this field to exclude the results that talk about "Hillary Clinton."
When no results are found
1. Try to change your search words.
2. Check the spelling.
3. Use more general words.
4. Reduce the number of search words.
